Aurora Sisalli, LMSW
Social Worker
Aurora is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of New York. Prior to joining our team, the focus of Aurora’s social work was multigenerational, serving the needs of teens, adults and seniors. Her passion to help others led her to provide services to underserved mentally ill individuals in behavioral community mental health clinics and in private practice settings.
Aurora understands how Alzheimer’s affects not only the individual but the entire family. She believes in a holistic approach involving physical, emotional, mental, and social wellbeing. Her role on our team is to connect individuals and their families to our internal and external resources, and to promote education to the public about Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia disorders on Long Island. If you see Aurora at one of the many outreach events we sponsor and participate in to support the communities we serve, please say hello to her. She would love to speak with you and see how she can help.
Aurora embraces the honor of working with the geriatric population and appreciates learning about their life experiences and lessons. She knows that everyone we serve is someone’s parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, daughter, son, friend or neighbor and that they should be receiving the care and support they deserve.
Her strong connection to help those with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia-related disorders comes from firsthand personal experience. Aurora has had family members who have suffered from this disease and has experience finding caretakers and support for her loved ones. She also has volunteered at nursing homes spending quality time with patients and doing activities with them. Aurora received her BS in Human Development and Health Science from SUNY Oswego and her Master of Social Work from Stony Brook University School of Social Welfare.
