Jolene Knight, NP

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Jolene Knight, NP, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner, who has been working with the geriatric population since 2012.

It’s Jolene’s passion to help this underserved population receive the specialty care they deserve. She enjoys their stories and learns so much from the life lessons they share along the way. Jolene has expertise working in nursing homes with patients who have cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, along with depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Her aim is to help decrease the stigma associated with dementia by providing support and through education. As Jolene often says, “I believe every person is more than a ‘diagnosis.’ A positive mind is key.”

She joined Stony Brook Medicine in 2019, first serving as a nurse manager at the Long Island State Veterans Home. Her expertise, compassion and calling then led her to join our Center of Excellence for Alzheimer’s Disease team in 2023. Jolene received her Master’s Degree of Science specializing in psychiatric nursing from Stony Brook University School of Nursing. She is a member of American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Association.
